Jake Weber is the pen name of Rookie Spa’s editor. I don’t sell spas or chemicals, and I’m not affiliated with any brand. Every guide here starts from the manufacturer’s manual, is cross-checked against the questions and fixes owners report most often, and is written in plain English for first-time owners — with a clear warning whenever something involves electricity or water safety.

Owning an inflatable hot tub should be relaxing. But the manuals are thin, the error codes are cryptic, and when something goes wrong most of what you find online is a paywalled Q&A or a 15-second video that doesn't actually solve the problem. I started Rookie Spa to be the resource that was missing: clear, step-by-step guides built from the manuals and from the questions owners actually ask.

How we write these guides

Every guide is based on the official manufacturer manuals for popular inflatable spas (SaluSpa/Coleman, Intex and similar) and on the real questions owners ask. The numbers and procedures come from the manuals; when something comes from owner reports instead, the guide says so. When something involves electricity, gas, or anything that could be unsafe, we say so plainly and tell you when to stop and call a professional rather than risk it.
